Summer has arrived! After a low snow but good skiing winter, spring greeted us with an exceptional amount of rain in May and lots of sun in early June. As a result, Lane Ranch North, the Wood River Valley and all of Southern Idaho is as green and lush with wildflowers as anyone can remember.

The greater Sun Valley community has been extremely active as well and exudes renewed energy. The Sun Valley Lodge’s total makeover and new spa is finished, open, spectacular, and not to be missed. Downtown Ketchum is bustling with the newly remodeled Zions Bank building and the soon to open Warfield Distillery (old Roosevelt Tavern) on opposing corners of Main street and Sun Valley Road. Two blocks south on Main Street, Aspen Skiing Company’s new Limelight Hotel is is breaking ground in July. The airport in Hailey has completed its latest runway and taxiway improvements plus the remodeled and expanded terminal is open and welcoming travelers utilizing the continually expanding jet service. Best of all, the bookings for this summer are very strong.

Lane Ranch North is lush with profuse wildflowers and maturing vegetation in the areas disturbed during the infrastructure construction. The Sun Valley Water and Sewer District’s two projects on the Lane Ranch North donated property (see winter 2015 update) are finished and the vegetation is establishing itself nicely.

Pete’s Lane (the access road) is open, and picnic tables and walking paths are awaiting your visit along with signage and information. Come up and enjoy the spectacular views, serenity, wildlife, and the scents and smells of summer’s arrival to this special property.
